Company History
The Merifield Company was established in 1932 by John B. Merifield, one of the first manufacturer's representatives in the country. For over sixty years, The Merifield Company has been a highly respected and successful sales agency providing quality representation to many of the nations leading manufacturers of marine and sporting goods products. We are proud of our long standing relationships with our factories and customers, many going back to the 1930's and 40's.
Sales Territory
The Western USA and Canada is famous for its outdoor recreation opportunities. The Merifield Company is one of the few agencies that covers the marine and sporting goods markets in this territory.
Our territory includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, California, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming, Hawaii and the Province of British Columbia. We travel this territory on a regular and frequent basis. Our customer base includes distributors, dealers, chain stores buying groups and boat manufacturers.
Facilities
The Merifield Company headquarters is located on Camano Island, Washington, centrally located in the Puget Sound region. We also operate branch offices in Anacortes, Washington; Los Angeles, California and Honolulu, Hawaii.
Within the facility are offices, warehouse space and a conference/showroom used to meet with customers and their personnel one-on-one. The office is staffed by knowledgeable personnel that can handle all types of inquires, orders, follow-up, warehousing and other service functions.
Services
The Merifield Company prides itself in TOTAL customer service and complete performance and accountability to our principals. We emphasize our product knowledge to ensure effective customer support of all product sold.
To increase sales, enhance brand awareness, and assist customers we provide trade and dealer show support, distributor sales personnel training, in-store consumer promotions, desk top publishing and merchandising support, and direct mail marketing.

Ivan Cross - President. Ivan came to the company in 1978. Born, raised and educated in Seattle, his career in the marine and sporting goods industries began over thirty years ago at the retail level, and includes several years with two of the leading wholesale distributors in the Northwest. Susan Cross - General Manager. Susan joined the Merifield Company in 1995 with over ten years of sales and marketing experience in the marine and sporting goods industries. She was trained and educated in California. She brings to Merifield sales and marketing management skills she puts to use managing operations and sales from our headquarters at Camano Island, WA. Dan Naber - Sales Associate. Dan Naber's addition in 1992 allowed the company to expand its coverage to include the southwestern states. Born in Buffalo, New York, Dan's twenty five years as a manufacturers representative began after his college education provided a degree in mechanical engineering. Mike Steiner - Sales Associate. Mike joined the company in 1997 with 11 years of prior experience in marina operations, retail sales and boat yard management. Mike Morelli - Sales Associate. Mike has been working with the Merifield Company since 1992 and services the state of Hawaii and Micronesia. Mike is the only resident marine manufactures representative residing in Hawaii and his knowledge of the local marine climate is a great assistance to mainland manufacturers.
